b. Remove traction drive motor mounting bolts (8)
securing motor to three speed transmission.
c. Remove traction drive motor.

Step 3:
Remove shift cap assembly (6) (if necessary).
a. Remove dipstick (7).
b. Matchmark shift cap for proper orientation.
c. Remove bolts (9) that attach shift cap to trans-
mission.
d. Remove shift cap.

INSPECTION
Step 1:
Inspect drive shaft universal joints for wear
(looseness) or damage.
Step 2:
Inspect drive motor for leakage or damage.
Replace shaft seal if there is leakage.
Step 3:
Inspect shift cap assembly for leakage or damage.
a. Remove capscrews if there is leakage.
b. Replace quad seals in the piston
assembly.
Step 4:
Inspect three speed transmission for leakage or
damage.
ASSEMBLY
Step 1:
If further disassembly was required, refer to
Appendix A-1 for a listing of available publications.
Step 2:
Install shift cap assembly (if removed).
a. Position shift cap assembly onto three speed
transmission by aligning match marks.
NOTE
Align shifting fork (1) with shift shaft. Assemble
with transmission set in INTERMEDIATE with
shaft sleeves pushed out to prevent hydraulic oil
from passing quad rings upon start up.
