COMPONENT TEST
NOTE
Pressure test can be done with either the
radiator installed or removed.
Step 1:
Remove intake and return hoses.
a. Loosen clamp and remove intake hose (8).
b. Loosen clamp and remove return hose from
bottom of radiator.

Step 2:
Plug holes with plastic caps and seal completely
with duct tape. Close drain petcock if necessary.
Step 3:
Remove radiator cap.
Step 4:
Install pressure testing unit and radiator cap.
a. Pump air into the system, cap should relieve
pressure at 7 psi (48 kpa/.48 bar).
b. If pressure on gauge begins to fall, there is a
leak in the radiator.
c. Determine where leak is and repair or replace
radiator.

EQUIPMENT PREPARATION
Step 1:
Fill radiator with proper fluid mixture: approx. 26
qts. (25 L) PF-200 and PF510; 23 qts. (22 L) PF-172.
Step 2:
Connect battery.
Step 3:
Start engine and allow to warm-up to operating
temperature.
Step 4:
Check radiator, hoses and oil cooler for leaks.
Tighten clamps if necessary.
