11. Hardware and Software

Requirements

This chapter describes the various ASCII terminal and printer types supported by the LinkUp 5294
and recommends which Terminal and Printer Module to use with each. General switch or configuration
settings for your terminal, printer, or modem (if a remote connection must be established with the
LinkUp 5294 ) are also reviewed.

11.1 ASCII Terminals

The following list identifies the ASCII terminals currently supported by the LinkUp 5294. Additionally
referenced are the Terminal Module IDs recommended for use with each terminal listed.

Once you have identified the Terminal Module appropriate for your terminal, see

Appendix G

for that

module's list of key sequences for invoking the 5250 and extended keyboard functions. If the terminal
you wish to use is not listed, please call your supplier to verify whether it is supported, and if it is, how.
