Valid values are: US and MULTI.
US is the U.S. character translation currently available in versions of the LinkUp 5294 code before 1.15.
MULTI is a multinational character translation based on IBM Multinational EBCDIC character set and
an extended version of IBM Code Page 850 ASCII character set. The default value is US.
Auxiliary Printer Device Type (AUX Menu Only)
Valid values are: CENTRN, CI300, DP8050, EPSON, GE3000, GEN34, GEN44, HPDPL, HPDPP, HPGEN,
OKIM84, or PRINT.
A Printer Module ID is the appropriate response at this parameter. Each module is based on a brand
name ASCII printer. To determine which module to select, the printer attached to your terminal users’
auxiliary port must be:
• The actual printer type
• Its compatible
• Capable of emulating the actual printer type

If invalid entries are made while editing in Configurator Mode, one of the following self-explanatory
messages will be displayed on your screen:
SYNTAX ERROR.
UNRECOGNIZED RESPONSE.
ILLEGAL CHARACTER.
MAXIMUM STRING LENGTH EXCEEDED. MAXIMUM LINE LENGTH EXCEEDED. VALUE OUT OF
RANGE.
INVALID.
TRAILING CHARACTERS IGNORED.
NOT SUPPORTED IN THIS RELEASE.
When the error corresponds to a specific parameter in one of the Configurator Mode menus, the
respective message will be displayed in the following format:
n: {message}
where n is the number of the parameter in error and {message} is the appropriate error message. The
brackets { } do not display; they are used here as markers only.
NOTE
Whenever you finish reconfiguring the parameters of the asynchronous port to which
your terminal is connected, the LinkUp 5294 exits Configurator Mode, saves your
changes, and displays the following message before returning you to Connect Mode:
**Connect Attempt Cancelled Port Reconfigured **

Whenever you reconfigure a synchronous port you must perform a hardware reset in order to reinitialize
it. This may be accomplished by powering the LinkUp 5294 off and back on again, or by using the
Remote Reset function in the System Management Mode options menu.
