Section 9 Operation of the Radiometric
Bulk Flow Meter

9.4 Evaluation Unit as Dry Weight Computer
The evaluation unit includes an input for moisture compensation
(28a/28c). If a moisture probe is connected and moisture compen-
sation is activated (menu
Operating
mode,
Config Instrument
:
moisture compensation
), the measured wet weight is computed
with the measured moisture value and one gets the dry weight.
With activated moisture compensation, the dry weight and the to-
tal weight is indicated on the display.
9.5 Starting/Stopping Operation of the System
To stop operation of the measuring system, proceed as follows:
Disconnect system from mains.
Lock radiation exit channel of shielding container and secure lock-
ing handle with lock.
Use water cooling if the temperature of the detector is likely to rise
above 50°C even though the instrument is not in operation.
With sub-zero temperatures, empty the water cooling.
To start operation of the measuring system:
Open radiation exit channel
Power on the instrument.
Put water cooling in operation again, if it was disabled.
