BVAD:
2.
Every start of a blood pump begins with a step. The first step is
always a diastole. If the membrane of the blood pump is in the
diastolic end position, membrane movement cannot be
observed.
Each time the
S
TEP
button is pressed, another step will be per-
formed. The blood pump empties / fills the blood chamber.
Pressing the button twice will yield a complete pump cycle con-
sisting of a diastole and a systole.
3.
Ensure complete de-airing in single step mode. Check connec-
tion tightness. Verify anastomosis as well as the connections
between the components (cannulae to blood pumps; connec-
tor sets and extension sets if applicable).
4.
After conducting one step, the blood pump can be started with
A
UTO
. The pump cycles are conducted in accordance with the
set parameters.
To stop the blood pumps, the
S
TART
/ S
TOP
button must be
pressed once again. Next, press the
S
TOP
button. The blood
pump can be restarted with
S
TEP
or
A
UTO
.
5.
The start of the pump is thus concluded. The parameters must
be adjusted subsequently. Make sure that the blood pump is
filling and emptying completely.
