8.11 Configuring and Updating the Replacement Driving Unit
A configured replacement driving unit must be labeled in such a way
that it is possible to easily allocate it to the correct patient. Otherwise,
switching to the replacement driving unit could result in use of a driving
unit with unsuitable settings. This could lead to insufficient support, no
support, or overloading.
Immediately transfer the changes in the driving parameters to the re-
placement driving unit. Otherwise, the patient will not receive appropri-
ate support if switching to the replacement driving unit becomes
necessary.
8.11.1 Configuring the Replacement Driving Unit
1.
Initial state:

operation. The panel PC is connected to the
driving unit. Driving tube with blue color coding is ready.

Log in with the

XPERT
user profile.
3.
Remove the cable wrap.
4.
Remove the flow sensor from the cannula. If alarms are emitted with regard to
flow or a flow sensor not being connected, press

5.
Reduce the rate on the left blood pump if necessary.
6.
Call up the

TART
/ S
TOP
BLOOD
PUMPS
view.
7.
Stop the right blood pump.
8.
Replace the right driving tube.
9.
Raise the left blood pump rate back to its original value. Start the right blood
pump.
10.
Check the filling and emptying of the blood pumps and optimize, if necessary.
11.
Mount the flow sensor and cable wrap.
12.
Log off.

Initial state:
The driving unit that is to be configured as a replacement driving
unit is connected to the panel PC. Both devices are on. The configuration file
to be transferred is on the panel PC or on the USB stick.
2.
If the configuration file is found on the USB stick, then insert the USB stick
into the USB port on the panel PC.
