Monitoring the Patient
Qualified medical personnel logged in as

must al-
ways log off of the panel PC before moving away from the patient. Log-
ging off prevents accidental or unauthorized modification of
parameters.
Use intensive-care monitoring to monitor the patient following implantation of a EX-
COR VAD system. Make sure that the user can reliably perceive any potential alarms.
8.8.2
Changing Parameters
The
E
XPERT
and
M
EDICAL
users can change the driving unit parameters. Several pa-
rameters can only be changed after the blood pumps have been paused or the driving
unit has been reset.
Parameters can only be set within a defined range of values. These value ranges de-
pend on the specific components implanted.

Note: If no flow alarm threshold is selected, an alarm will be emitted after 5 minutes
