5.7.1.9 Driving Unit Operating Time in Battery Operation
The operating time of the driving unit depends primarily on the operating mode, the
size of the blood pump, the set rate, and the ambient temperature. The cannulae in
use, the systolic duration, and the patient’s pre- and afterloads all affect operating time
as well.
The following values are guidelines for biventricular operation of 10 mL blood pumps
or an 80 mL/60 mL combination.
