Tools and Maintenance
The Plexus 9000 provides these tools for maintaining the system:
•
20 simultaneous Telnet sessions
•
Alarm queuing which creates a time-stamped log of alarms and
events generated by the Plexus 9000 during a loss of
communication between the Plexus 9000 and the EMS or external
OSS, such as NMA
•
ISUP/PRI signaling trace logging which decodes ISUP and ISDN
messages received and generated by the Plexus 9000
•
NPA Overlay tools
•
Scheduled or manual switch database backup
3.2.2.16 Other
Capabilities
The Telica Plexus 9000 provides these additional capabilities:
•
Supports SS7 and PRI cause values per Telcordia’s GR-317/394-
CORE and TR-TSY-000444 standards
•
DS0 Nail-up which enables DS0s to be internally cross-connected
between any two physical ports on the Plexus The nail-up is
intended to support 64 kbs or Nx64kbs data traffic carried in the
same DS1 as CAS voice DS0s.
•
DTMF/MF tone generation/detection
•
Line timing which, used with external trunks, provides an
alternative to BITS timing; can be used instead of local BITS
source or as an additional backup (mixed nodes are not supported).
Both may be connected to the switch, but each must be configured
as a protected pair.
•
NFAS with D-Channel backup which enables a second D channel
to be configured in another DS1 to act as a backup should the DS1
carrying the primary D channel fail
•
Network Timing Protocol (NTP) support
•
On-board echo cancellation – 128 ms of one-way echo tail
cancellation for each DS0 – 1:N protection
•
Octal DS3 IOM with per port DS3/STS-1 provisioning
•
Signaling restart
•
Subscriber database with screening
•
Load balancing across trunk groups and overflow trunk groups
