•
Call path tracing which enables users to specify a port on the
switch by Circuit Identification Code (CIC) or physical port and
trace the port and CIC to which the call is currently connected
•
Call progress tones which generate dial tone, busy signal, fast busy
and similar signals
•
Call screening: block/allow/inbound/outbound which enables or
prohibits specified originations or terminations (e.g., 976 calls).
•
Calling number verification for PRI origination that enables a user
to enter a list of valid directory numbers against each PRI line;
ensures that calls to 911 have the correct calling numbers
associated with them.
•
Digit stripping/appending applied to egress lines or trunk groups to
modify the called number to accommodate the requirements of the
switch at the far end; can strip and append 1 to 21 digits
3.2.2.7
Various Numbering Services
Telica’s Plexus 9000 supports these numbering plans and services:
•
Full Local Number Portability (LNP) – SS7 TCAP protocol used
to query SCP databases for determining new switch that hosts a
ported number
•
Location Routing Number (LRN) hosting – Plexus database
supports one or more LRNs for LNP
•
Multiple NPA/NXX hosting – Plexus database supports entry of
multiple local NPA/NXXs and LATAs
•
Number pooling – Enables office to identify resident number by
thousandths groups (includes NPA, office code, first digit of
station number (NPA-NXX-X)). That degree of granularity
permits NPA-NXX to be shared by multiple carriers.
3.2.2.8
Various Routing Schemes
Telica’s Plexus 9000 supports these routing schemes:
•
3, 6, 7, and 10-digit screening and routing
•
10XXXX routing which enables a subscriber to direct a call to a
specific IXC by prefixing the calling number with the 101XXXX
code where the XXXX is the Carrier ID
•
0,00 routing
•
011 routing which screens any dialed international number against
a database of valid codes downloaded from the LERG
