Checking the ignition spark
Â
Remove the spark plug (33).
Firmly connect the spark plug connector (32).
Â
Use an insulated pair of tongs to press the spark plug
against the engine body (away from the spark plug hole).
Â
Put the throttle lever (14) to the position
.
Firmly pull the the cranking handle (19).
L
If there is no spark visible between the electrodes, the
spark plug may be defective.
Silencer / Exhaust outlet
Â
Check the silencer (36) on a regular basis
L
Clean the exhaust outlet (h) on a regular basis.
Do not clean the silencer when the engine is hot. Dan-
ger of burning!
Adjusting the carburetor (idle speed)
The carburetor is factory-set to the correct idle speed so that the
correct fuel-air mixture is fed to the engine.
In the cases below the carburetor (idle speed) has to be
corrected:

Speed too high
-
Erratic running or lack of acceleration (idle speed too low)
-
Adjustment to weather conditions and temperatures
An incorrect carburetor adjustment results in
severe engine damages. Do not continue working
with the device in such a condition.

Contact the customer service and have the carburetor
adjustment done.
Cleaning
L
Clean the machine thouroughly after each
application so that the faultless function is kept.
•
Clean all movable parts on a
regular
basis.
•
Clean the case with a soft brush or a dry cloth.
•
Do not clean the machine under running water or using a
high-pressure cleaner.
•
Do not use solvents (gasoline, alcohol, etc.) for plastic parts,
otherwise such parts may be damaged.
•
Keep the handles free of oil and grease.
Water, solvents and polishing agents shall not be
applied.
•
Pay attention to that the ventilation slots (i) for the motor
cooling are free (risk of overheating).
•
Keep also the cooling fins for the cylinder (j) free from dust
and dirt.
Transport
For each Transport

switch off device.
−
wait until the cutting device does not longer
move.

Put the transport wheel to the position
.
When transporting the product within a car put it in the boot
or on a separate loading area. Secure the device against
tipping over, damages and fuel spillage.
Storage
Keep unused machines in a dry and closed area out of the
reach of children. Do not store them close to a cooker, oven
or hot-water apparatus with permanent flame or other spark-
generating devices.
Allow the engine to cool down before storing the machine.
Before
extended storage
, please observe the following to
increase the service life of the device and to ensure smooth
operation:

Thoroughly clean the device.
Ö
Oil all moving parts with environmentally compatible oil.

Do not use grease.
Ö
Empty the fuel tank completely.

Dispose of remaining fuel in an environmentally
compatible manner.
Ö
Operate the engine until the carburetor is empty.
Ö

Please refer to the ”Engine Operating
Instructions“ for more information on storing the
engine.
Ö
Check the machine for perfect condition to ensure a safe
use of it after a longer period of storage.
