Inactivity Timeout
sets the number of minutes (0 - 255) before a network connection with no activity will be
terminated. A setting of 0 means an inactive connection will not be terminated. Default setting is 0.
This option displays the Web Interface Settings menu where you can toggle the web interface on or off, set the
session timeout (0 - 65535 minutes), and set the TCP port number for the web connection.
Event Sensor Reporting Settings
This selection displays the Event Sensor Reporting menu where the parameters for using Event Sensors on other
Asentria site monitoring hosts can be configured.
The SNMP Settings option displays the SNMP Settings menu where you can configure the version of SNMP to
use, the community names, and trap settings.
This menu option displays the FTP Settings menu, where you can configure automatic FTP pushes of buffered
data.
This menu option displays the PPP Settings menu, where you can configure settings for PPP Dialout, PPP
Hosting, and IP Routing for the optional POTs modem.
This option displays the Email Settings menu, where you can configure the SMTP server address, Email domain
name, and authentication parameters.
This menu option displays the Real-Time Socket Settings menus where you can configure real-time socket
settings for each file of buffered data. Real-Time Sockets are used to collect data on TCP port 2201 from a serial
port in real-time, while buffering data if the network connection goes down.
This option displays the SNMP Trap Capture Settings menu where you can toggle this feature ON or OFF, and
select which file to store the traps in.
The IP Address Restrictions option displays a menu where you can limit Ethernet and PPP communications to or
from specific IP addresses.
The Routing Settings option displays a menu where you can configure settings for static network routes, port
forwarding and other network routing parameters.
The DSL Settings menu is used to configure the S571 to communicate using the optional ADSL Modem.
This selection displays the VPN Settings menu where you can configure settings for up to two VPNs.
This menu option displays the Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) Settings menu where up to 64 different
networked devices can be configured for keep-alive monitoring by the SiteBoss.
Security Note: If the S571 is going to be exposed to the Internet, make sure to use the other
security features available within the unit to prevent unauthorized access to your network.
The
other security features are SSH, Strong Passwords, Challenge and Responses. Also, disallow insecure
connections such as Telnet and FTP. See the
