DANGER!
LASER HAZARD. Under normal operating conditions, the 3730xl
DNA Analyzer is categorized as a Class 1 laser product. However, removing
the protective covers and (when applicable) defeating the interlock(s) may
result in exposure to the internal Class 3B laser. Lasers can burn the retina,
causing permanent blind spots. To ensure safe laser operation:

Never look directly into the laser beam.
·
Do not remove safety labels, instrument protective panels, or defeat safety
interlocks.
·
The system must be installed and maintained by a Thermo Fisher Scientific
Technical Representative.
·
Remove jewelry and other items that can reflect a laser beam into your eyes
or those of others
·
Wear proper eye protection and post a laser warning sign at the entrance to
the laboratory if the laser protection is defeated for servicing
·
DO NOT operate the laser when it cannot be cooled by its cooling fan; an
overheated laser can cause severe burns on contact.
The following table lists laser safety symbols and alerts that may be present on the
instrument.

Class 3B (III) visible and/or invisible laser radiation present when open
and interlocks defeated. Avoid exposure to beam.
CAUTION!
LASER HAZARD, Bar Code Scanner. The bar code scanner included
with the instrument system is a Class 2 laser. To avoid damage to eyes, do not
stare directly into the beam or point into another person's eyes.
