INSTALL THE WINTERM SOFTWARE
The Winterm software is a Windows terminal program developed for programming various Alphatronics
products, such as CP-508LCD or AlphaVision control panels, AlphaCom ISDN diallers, DL-500PC diallers
and RC-4001 receiver equipment.
The DOS version of the Winterm software, TERMPRIV can be downloaded from the Alphatronics website,
www.alphatronics.nl. The functionality of the Termpriv software is nearly identical to the Winterm software.
With the newer and faster laptops it was no longer possible to use the old DOS version of Terminal program.
Also the latest laptops are equipped with an USB port and no longer with a direct RS-232 connection. If this
is the case, we advise you to buy an USB/RS-232 connector at your local computer vendor.
To program the AlphaVision NG control panel, Winterm version 2.1 or higher or Termpriv version 5.70 or
higher is required. The Winterm update can be downloaded from the Alphatronics b.v. website.
The Winterm software is a so-called Terminal program which only shows the characters and commands sent
from the control panel on the PC’s screen. In this way the control panel controls the screen of the PC.
Place the Winterm CD in the CD drive. The installation process will start automatically. If the installation
does not start automatically, go to Start, Run and choose Browse. Select your CD drive and choose
D:\SETUP.EXE. The installation will start with the Alphatronics screen.
The next screen allows you to choose the language you want to work with.
It is necessary to select Program Files
and
one of the languages. Select the language you wish to install with
a double click of your mouse. The selected option will be showed with a check mark.
All the program files will be automatically stored in C:\Programfiles\Alphatronics\Winterm Terminal. If you
wish to select a different directory, click on Browse and select the directory you wish to install Winterm in.
When this is done, click on Next. The following screen will appear:
