RO module with power supply in cabinet
On the front of the RO module with power supply the following parts can be found:
Pushbutton ‘manual battery test’. When this button is pressed, the RO module will test the
connected battery. When the battery is not functioning properly, the ‘battery fault’ LED will light as
long as the button is pressed.
Red LED ‘fuse blown’. This LED lights when the fuse of the 230V power supply is blown.
Red LED ‘battery fault’. This LED lights when the ‘manual battery test’ button is pressed and the
connected battery is not functioning properly.
Green LED ‘mains’. This LED lights when the RO module is functioning properly and flashes for a
few seconds when the door opener is activated.
Green LED ‘system’. This LED briefly lights when commands from the RS-485 bus are received.
The Request to Exit input can be used to open a door without the need for a valid Tag. The device connected
to the input can be a PIR detector or a push button. In most cases when an NG Prox Reader is connected to
the outside of the secured premises, a pushbutton is used to open the door from the inside.
The power supply of the RO module with power supply in cabinet
The name ‘RO module with power supply’ suggestes that this RO module has a separate power supply, such
as the I/O module. However, this is not true. The power supply of this RO module only supplies the door
opener. The RO module itself obtains its power from the RS-485 bus. Because the RO module and the door
opener are galvanic separated, the RS-485 bus can not be disturbed. This also means that the RO module can
not be placed too far from a power supply (control panel or I/O module). Use the calculation method for the
