The definitions and characteristics of zones 1-16 are set in screen 1. When the control panel has more than
16 zones, the other zones will be shown per 16 in the next screens. Press the > key to go a page further.
Zone definitions and characteristics are arranged as follows:
The
zone name
can be given freely. When the SIA-High Security (SIA-HS) protocol is used, each report
concerning a zone, will be transmitted including the programmed zone name.
All zones need to be programmed to at least one
section
. The AlphaVision NG control panel has up to 8
sections which are named A to H. Zones are allowed to be programmed to more than one section, however
that zone will only be activated when all sections coupled to the zone are activated. So, if zone 1 is
programmed to section A and B, both sections need to be armed to have zone 1 give an alarm when it
detects something.
For each zone the
type
of zone
must be programmed. The type of zone (burglary, tamper, etc.) decides how
the zone functions when it is activated and which outputs are activated as a result. Suppose zone 3 is
programmed to section B and as a tamper zone, the output programmed in screen 2 at tamper section B, will
be activated in case of a tamper alarm in zone 3.
After setting the factory defaults, all zones are set to type 1. Only the zones of a wireless input are set to
zonetype 0.

Zone type 1 (Burglary) is by far the most used zonetype. Zone type 1 is used for all detectors which ‘detect’
burglary, such as magnetic contacts, PIR and dual detectors, ultrasone detectors, infrared detectors and
glassbreak detectors. Zone type 1 can be seen as a “bu tamper” zone, because when detectors are
tampered with (opened or connection cut), this automatically leads to a tamper alarm.
