Menu option chosen to receive the programming of the
connected product and to store this programming into a file
on the PC. Enter now a file-name, in which this programming
will be saved. A file-name can consist of maximum 8 characters
followed by a point and followed by 3 characters (DOS),
e.g. TEST0001.BIN .
Filename:
Enter a file name, e.g. TEST0001.BIN, followed by the <ENTER> key. When the WinTerm software is
used, a separate Windows screen will open, in which you can select the directory to save the file in. If you
wish to be able to open this file with the AlphaManager software, make sure to save the programming file as
a .BIN file, since the AlphaManager software can only read programming files with a .BIN extension. The
control panel’s programming will now be send to the PC and saved as a file. When this is done, the main
menu is shown again.
Option Send programming from PC to the control panel
When this option is selected from the main menu, the following text will appear:
Take care: transmission of a programfile from disk/harddisk to
control panel overwrites the current programming in the control panel!
Take care: there should exist any programfile on the disk/harddisk!
Do you really want to do this? (Y/N) :
When you now press <Y> to confirm you want to send a program file from the PC to the control panel, the
screen will change to:
Menu option chosen to transmit an existing programming from disk
or harddisk to the connected product. Enter now the file-name
of the existing programming that has to be transmitted.
Press <ENTER> to see the directory contents
Filename:
Enter the desired filename, e.g. TEST0001.BIN, followed by the <ENTER> key or press <ENTER> to show
a list of all available files. When the Winterm software is used, a separate Windows screen will open, from
which you can choose the directory and file. When the file is selected, the programming will be send to the
scratch memory of the control panel. When this is done, the main menu will be shown again.
Attention:
Sending a programming file from the PC to the control panel will only influence the scratch
memory. You now can make further adjustments to the programming by selecting option 1, or save the file
from the scratch memory to the permanent memory by selecting option 0, “end, save changes”.
Option End, do not save changes
When this option is selected from the main menu, all changes made to the programming are ignored, the
scratch memory is erased and the control panel reboots. When rebooted, the original programming will be
once again copied from the permanent memory to the scratch memory.
Option End, save changes
When this option is selected from the main menu, the programming is saved from the scratch memory to the
permanent memory. All changes made are now definitive. The control panel reboots and starts with the new
programming.
Usually the programming of the control panel will always be closed off with this option. Also when a
programming file is send from the PC to the control panel, this option must be selected.
