In case of failure of the IUCV2D card:
•
The probability of the switch developing a fault is very low, and the only consequence will be
to block communications between the active and passive UCV2D cards. Therefore, service is
not reduced. The duplication operation between the two motherboards will simply stop working
until the card is put back into service or replaced. Once the switch becomes faulty, the active
motherboard sends an alarm notifying the manager that the passive motherboard can longer
be reached.

The probability of the dongle being inaccessible is even lower (due to the connections). The
dongle is not read through the switch but by a simple communication bus: the dongle remains
accessible.
The IUCV2D card can be hot-plugged.
