The UCV2L card provides the following functions:
•
data and voice switching
•
signal processing
•
voicemail server
•
defence (management of interface card status)
•
synchronisation
•
management of interface cards
•
remote control of an external device (delivering a voltage of +12V) such as a door opener
•
supervision of the expansion cabinets: The power-on state of an expansion cabinet is
detected by recognising a synchronisation signal. The UCV2L card can force the general
"Reset" of the expansion cabinets, provided they are synchronised.
•
Locking and unlocking optional software functions, thanks to a component of the "i-Button"
family, which is used to store and authenticate the Aastra ID number (and the optional
software functions)
Power supply of the UCV2L card:
The UCV2L card receives the following on the backpanel connector (J1):
•
+5V input for its internal circuits
•
+12V input generally used to supply power to external equipment
•
- 48V input for analogue and digital terminals
•
70V AC input for the ringing current of analogue terminals
The UCV2L card includes a 2.4V and 80mAh NiMH battery responsible for:
•
storing the contents of the internal memory for approximately 2 months
•
back-up power supply for the internal clock
5.3.7.5 Expansion cabinet
Two expansion cabinets can be connected to the main cabinet. These expansion cabinets are
connected thanks to a flexible wire, thus allowing the two cabinets to be stacked or to be mounted side
by side.
The expansion cabinets have their own power supply unit and 14 expansion slots each, which only
accept the following cards: LA8X, LN8X, LH8, LH16, LN16, LA16, DL8 and DL16.
RUCVL card:
The RUCVL card is installed instead of the UCV2L motherboard and in the same position as the
UCV2L card in the expansion cabinet. Its main function is to distribute and monitor the status of the
line equipment bus and PCM synchronous trunks in the positions of the expansion cards. It holds an
EEPROM memory connected to the UCV2L card through the connection bus.
It includes a control interface for 14 equipment cards and 7 PCM trunks.
