Aastra XS12
The Aastra XS12 platform is a polyvalent and scalable solution. In its default configuration, it has 8
analogue subscribers, 4 digital subscribers, 4 T0/S0, 500 directory records, 500 voice mail boxes and
8 IVS accesses.
•
As a polyvalent solution, it consists of telephonic solutions with highly advanced, fully
integrated call distribution functions (messaging system, interactive voice server) going to
telephony over IP.
•
Aastra XS12 is part of the Aastra solution range (Web services integration with TWP,
DECT…).
•
It manages by default all terminal types: analogue, digital, SIP, DECT and IP.
5.3.5.1 Mechanic design
This cabinet is adapted to 19" racks using brackets. It can also be laid on the ground or on a desk, by
adding slip-free feet. Finally, it can be mounted on a wall, vertically on a wall adapter.

The cabinet may be opened while in operation, since the power supply is streamlined.
If placed on a desk, a CPU and a PC console may be superimposed in the XS12 cabinet.
5.3.5.2 Expansion slots
The cabinet has three expansion slots capable of receiving any type of equipment or processor cards..
The expansion cards are connected using the backpanel which is part of the basic cabinet.
When an expansion slot is not in use, it can be blocked by means of a specific cover.
5.3.5.3 Inputs/outputs
The following inputs/outputs exist:

1 DB9 connector for the operating console and debug link
•
1 RJ45 socket for connecting external on-hold music
•
3 RJ45 sockets for connecting Ethernet 10/100 BASE-TX
•
2 RJ45 sockets for DECT synchronisation ports
•
4 RJ45 for network connections: 2 T0, 2T0/S0
•
1 DB25 connector for alarms and remote controls
•
12 RJ45 for traditional subscribers
•
On UCV1S: 3 USB ports, one master and two slaves. On UCV2S: 2 USB ports, slaves
•
On UCV1S: 1 RJ45 port for connecting the printer (printer port not active from R5.1). This port
doesn’t exist on UCV2S
At the back of the cabinet 3 connectors are available:
•
A expansion cabinet connector
•
the 220V 50Hz connection socket
•
the connector for battery’ link
