5.7 Deployment conditions of the Aastra X Series
5.7.1
Environment and premises
The environmental conditions required by the Aastra platforms are the same as for computer
equipment installation.
In general, the following items must be checked:
•
the location
•
the environment
•
the required space
•
the electrical power supply
5.7.1.1 Location
Locations with sudden temperature variation and poorly ventilated rooms must be avoided. Locations
behind bay windows, places under atrium windows enlighten with the sun, as well as locations with a
source of water or humidity (piping, gutters with risk of flood, etc.) must be avoided too.
The location must be large enough to house the Aastra X series. There must be sufficient space for
the switching rack and battery no more than 4 meters from the cabinet. The RJ45 connection cables
are available in 5m and 10m versions.
A minimum clearance is required for air flow around the cabinet: 55 mm on each side of an Aastra XS
and 55 mm on the left-hand side and back of an XL cabinet.
There must be a minimum distance of 4m (13ft) between the Aastra and equipment such as
photocopiers, electric motors, and other components that can produce electromagnetic or radio-
frequency interference.
A fire extinguishing system must be installed in the room.
5.7.1.2 Environment
The room should be clean, dry, and well-ventilated to allow free airflow.
Floor covering:
The floor covering may consist of painted cement, thermostatic slabs or any other antistatic floor
material. The use of carpets must to be avoided, regardless of the type (including antistatic carpet with
or without periodic treatment).
Walls and ceilings:
They can be painted with dust-resistant paint. They should neither be naked nor transparent (atrium
windows). The ceilings must be finished (lighting, ventilation, fire detection and extinguishing
equipment, etc.).
