Integrated clients/servers
Integrated FTP/TFTP server
The FTP server is used for downloading the software and the configuration of the IP Aastra 5300ip
terminals and Aastra 6700i SIP terminals.
The TFTP server may be used to download the SIP terminal’s configuration and software from the AX
Series.
Integrated NTP client
The NTP client is used to synchronise the AX Series to other devices/servers from the ip-network.
Furthermore, if no NTP synchronisation is available, the local time (including summer/winter saving
time) comes from the Linux OS according to UTC time and the declared time zone.
Integrated SNTP server:
Furthermore, the AX Series hosts an SNTP server (Simple Network Time Protocol), simplified version
of the NTP protocol. This server is able to provide network time to Aastra SIP terminals and SNTP-
compatible, third-party SIP terminals.
This server cannot be configured and is always active.
Integrated DHCP server:
A DHCP server is integrated in order to manage the IP Aastra terminals (SIP and proprietary) and
DECT over IP terminals. This server manages up to 500 IP addresses. There is no technical
restriction with regard to the number of connected terminals.
If higher capacities are required, it is also possible to use to an external DHCP server.
Note: All integrated servers are only dedicated to Aastra X series applications and Aastra terminals.
They must not be used for other external applications (Aastra cannot guarantee their proper use).
Integrated SNMP agent:
Aastra X series can be supervised by any standard IT network management software solution, such
as HP-Openview. The SNMP agent can be used by the IT network hypervision applications, and in
particular by HP Openview, and can issue alarms if Aastra X Series are facing problems.

or SIP trunk. It enables to make complex calls (transfer, double calls, Alternat,…).
No video codecs are included in Aastra platforms but they are able to manage codecs negotiation
