5.2  Software architecture 

 

5.2.1 

A common software  

With  its  special  software  which  is  the  same  for  the  entire  range,  the  Aastra  X  Series  provides  a 
special benefit which distinguishes it from others.  

Thanks to this software, associated servers developed by Aastra France or its partners are compatible 
to the whole Aastra X Series.  

 

The Aastra 5000 software has the following characteristics: 

 

It is a modular software solution. 

 

It provides over 500 telephony services for companies, including: 

 

Call processing:

Outgoing  call  services,  such  as  abbreviated  numbers,  call  by  name, 
emergency numbers, and call restriction, least-cost routing 

-

 

Incoming call services, such as forwarding, call filtering, Intercom function 

-

 

Services  during  calls,  such  as  recovery  after  interruption,  transfer  and 
conference. 

-

 

ACD  type  call  distribution  services,  with  longest  idle  time  distribution,  multi-
group distribution, assistance hunt groups, calendar management  

 

Added-value functions, such as:

Directory management (up to 3000 records)

Computer Telephony Interfacing services. Aastra integrates, in the core of its 
software, CSTA or VTI XML’s interfaces and an external application interface 
(EAI) for vertical applications used in hospitals and hotels/motels, and a TAPI 
interface too (option).

Mobility (DECT, Wi-Fi, DISA, Virtual Desking, etc.)
