Aastra offers a range of universal iPbx. The Aastra X Series is made of a homogeneous architecture
that can, be easily upgraded, by adding hardware and software components.
This range is homogeneous and flexible. It is designed for 4 to 704 traditional subscribers and 500 IP
subscribers. It meets requirements of traditional and ToIP markets, as based on a single software
application and a unified infrastructure.
All communication platforms described in this document shares:
•
the same software release
•
the same range of associated applications
•
the same range of traditional, IP, SIP and DECT terminals
•
the service transparency when connected together in an A5000
network
The main key points of the Aastra X Series are:
Universal use
•
A unique iPbx range able to manage from 4 up to 1000 subscribers
•
Capacity can be extended easily (no need to change the hardware).
•
The hardware is unified across the whole range. Cards could be hot-plugged.
•
All terminal types are managed: analogue, digital, IP, DECT, Softphone, etc.
•
It is compatible with all network types: ISDN, analogue and IP networks, tie-line, etc.
•
Universal installation: rack mounting, wall mounting, etc.
•
The engineering rules are simplified and the slots are general-purpose slots.
•
The proposed universal connectors are the RJ45 and USB port (connectors available on the
front panel).
Capacity:
•
A hardware platform for connecting 704 traditional subscribers and up to 500 IP subscribers in
only 24U, thanks to 16-extension cards.
•
Telephony software from the last generation providing 500 functions.
•
A high level of services is proposed, as voice mail (IVB), interactive voice servers (IVS),
broadcasting of synchronised announcement, Ethernet port, ISDN remote management’s
component and integrated buffer are embedded in the motherboard.
•
Networking features able to create a virtual telephony network (with Aastra 5000 Server) for
up to 150,000 subscribers.
•
Performance is at its maximum in full IP, hybrid IP and /traditional environments.
Openness:
•
Evolution to telephony over IP and convergent services.
•
Compatibility with the existing cards and terminal portfolio.
•
Compatibility with the most widely accepted standards: SIP, CSTA, TAPI, SNMP, XML, LDAP,
QSIG, etc.
•
Integration into any existing IS installation, without any impact on the hardware or ip-network
architecture.
