JUMPER DESCRIPTIONS

The following topics list the jumpers in numerical order and provide a detailed description of each
jumper. A dagger (†) indicates the default jumper configuration. Click on the green jumper number at
the top of the topic for an illustration showing jumper locations.

W1A, W1B (CMOS RAM Erase)

W1A, W1B removes the contents of the battery backed CMOS configuration RAM. The CMOS RAM
is erased by turning off the power and moving the W1A shorting jumper to position W1B and back to
W1A again.

W1C (Boot From On-Board Flash Device)

W1C enables the ZT 8905 to begin program execution from the local Flash device or an alternate
boot image loaded in the socket at T6C. Select the alternate boot operation if the local Flash device
is corrupted and the ZT 8905 fails to boot properly. W1C must be removed when booting from a
device in socket T6C.
