drive will be inhibited, but the control will show no door open message. The spindle ON LED will stay
on, but the spindle will be stopped.
7.
DAC (digital to analog) signal is an analog, 0 to 10 Volt signal that is used to set the speed of the
spindle motor. This is the AVI terminal on the AC Drive. When measuring AVI voltage use the ACM
terminal for reference.
Outputs
1.
Fault (RB and RC terminals) output:
Used to indicate to the computer module that a fault has
occurred on the AC drive. When a fault occurs the voltage between terminals RB and RC will be 5
volts DC and with no fault, it will be 0 volts.
2.
MRA and MRC output: This input is not currently used by the computer module.
Digital Keypad
The AC Drive digital keypad, figure 5.6.2a, can display a number of operational parameters. The Mode
button is used to scroll through the display modes, in the following sequence:
1.
Frequency Input Mode:
Displays the frequency command from the computer module. Note
the letter “F” on the top left of the operator will turn red when in this mode (default on power up).
2.
Frequency Output Mode:
Displays the frequency command output to the motor. Note the
letter “H” on the top left of the operator will turn red when in this mode.
3.
User Define:
Displays user defined information. The factory default is the digital
input status from the computer module. Note the letter “U” on the top left of the operator will turn
red when in this mode. The following are the digital input codes.

The contents of this display is set by parameter 00-04 (User Display). Other useful parameters are
(see also the AC drive user manual):
•
00-04 = 09 Spindle encoder position
•
00-04 = 11: Analog voltage in (speed demand 0-95% = 0 – 6,000RPM)
•
00-04 = 16: Digital input status (default)
4.
Current Output Mode – Displays the motor current. Note an “A” will be displayed at the front of the
LED display. The following currents are typical under no load conditions.
a.
100 RPM – 3A
b.
1000 RPM – 3A
c.
1800 RPM – 3A
d.
3000 RPM – 2.2A
e.
6000 RPM – 1.2A
5.
Upload/Download Mode – In this mode the operator will have the ability to download or upload the
parameters between the AC Drive and keypad unit. This function is not normally required. Please
refer to section 3.1.2 of the AC drive User Manual for more information
