higher the number is, the lighter the picture except for 6 which
causes the printer to print a negative image.
The Screen Menu
The Screen menu, MISC:SCREEN, allows you to select the number
of gray levels to print. The options are Normal, 145lg, 197lg, and
256lg. The factory default is MISC:SCREEN:Normal. (See “Levels
of Gray” in chapter 7 for more details.)
The Density Menu
The Density menu, MISC:DENSITY, allows you to select density
settings from 0 to 15 to darken or lighten your image by controlling
the amount of toner released by the printer. The factory default is 7.
The Interface Menu
The Interface menu, SETUP:I/F, controls the settings and includes
five submenus in its top level (with other menus and options in lower
levels). The five submenus are
• RS232
• PARALLEL
• LTALK (LocalTalk)
• ETALK (EtherTalk)
• LPR (LinePrinter)
