PROCEDURE
1 Apply Molykote G-Rapid Plus to the rod (001, Figure 7-22 ) of the disassembly /
assembly tool (002).
2 Attach the plate (015) to the bush (011).
3 Put the plate (015) together with the bush (011) into a vice.
4 Make sure that the sealing faces (007) are clean.
5 Put the valve bush (012) into the disassembly/assembly tool (002).
6 Attach the tool (002) to the valve bush (012) and the bush (011) with the Allen screws
(013).
7 Torque the Allen screws (013) to the correct value, refer to section 16.1 Tightening
instructions .
8 Attach the pusher (010) to the bush (011) with the Allen screws (008).
9 Turn the special screw (009) fully in.
10 Turn the rod (001) to compress the spring (005), and push the valve cotter (003) out of
the spring carrier (014).
11 Remove the valve cotter (003).
12 Remove the pusher (010).
13 Turn the valve spindle (004).
14 To release the tension in the spring (005), turn back the rod (001).
15 Remove the tool (002).
16 Remove the spring (005).
17 Remove the valve spindle (004).
18 Clean the valve spindle (004).
19 Do a check of the valve spindle (004) for damage, specially the sealing surface (007).
20 Carefully put the valve spindle (004) into the valve guide (006). Move the valve spindle
in and out. Make sure that the valve spindle moves smoothly.
NOTE: When held in the position shown, the valve spindle (004) must move smoothly
out of the valve guide.
21 Do a pressure check of the GAV, refer to section 7.3.3 Gas admission valve - do a check
for gas leakage .
