3.5.4 Travel Clutch Tensioning Pulley Adjustment
If you are not sufficiently manually skilled, have the operations done by an authorized service centre.
If the travel mechanism of the machine starts failing under the load, it is possible that clutch drive belt slippage occurs. First, check
visually for any signs that the v-belt is greasy or for any visible ruptures or separated rubber parts.
The adjustment is done unscrewing the adjustment bolt
1
of the travel clutch pulley Bowden on the back side of the upper chassis – see
Fig. 11
on page
. Use 10 mm and 13 mm flat spanners.
1. Secure the machine against movement, e.g. by putting two suitable wood pieces to the both sides of the wheels (to the front and
behind the wheel). Switch the bypass lever to the manual travel position.
2. Start the engine and set its revolutions to the idle operation.
3. Loosen the M6 nut with the 10 mm spanner
2
.
4. Hold the insert
3
in the frame
7
with the 13 mm spanner. Turn the adjustment bolt
1
using the 10 mm spanner until the v-belt
starts moving jerkily.
5. Screw the adjustment screw in
1
by one turn. Check that the distance between the red lever and the black body of the lever is
13
mm
– see
Fig. 13
on page
6. Tighten the M6 nut
2
.
7.
Press the travel clutch lever 5 times.
8. Check whether the belt is stopped when the clutch lever is turned off. Is it moves, screw in the adjustment bolt by one turn and try
again.
If, after adjusting the pulley, the problem persists, the defect is situated in another part of the drive system and the inspection by an
authorized service centre is necessary.
At the moment when the adjustment bolt of the travel clutch pulley Bowden cannot be unscrewed any further or when
it is possible to hear grinding noises of the pulley, it is necessary to replace the belt.
3.5.5 V-Belt Change
Replace the V-belt with a new one
every time cracks or ruptures appear on the surface of the belt and also when the belt is worn
sufficiently by the operation that it can no longer be tensioned with its tensioning pulley.
Always have the authorized service centre do the v-belt replacement.
3.5.6 Gearbox Control Lever Adjustment
It is important to correctly set the neutral position of the speed control lever on the gearbox in relation to the position-locked lever of the
speed selector on the handlebars. The the correct adjustment is set when the machine is assembled. If you find out that, with the selector
lever set to
“N” (meaning the neutral)
and, at the same time, the travel clutch lever pressed, the machine moves forward or backwards,
it is necessary to do the following:
check that the frame of the machine is not damaged,
check that the gearbox is not loosen or shifted in its seat in the frame.
The Bowden is adjusted on its attachment fitting in the rear of the left sideboard.
If you are not sufficiently manually skilled, have the operations done by an authorized service centre.
3.5.6.1 Gearbox Control Bowden Adjustment Procedure
1. Find out in which direction the machine moves when the neutral is selected.
2. Slightly loosen, with two 13 mm spanners, the internal and external nut on the Bowden bracket.
3. If the machine was moving forward, it is necessary to turn the inner nut counter-clockwise (i.e. the nut should be being unscrewed).
The firmly tighten the external nut.
4. If the machine was moving backwards, it is necessary to turn the inner nut clockwise (i.e. you should be turning the nut in the
tightening direction). The firmly tighten the inner nut.
74
Use exclusively original spare parts. If you use belts from other manufacturers, proper operation of the drive cannot be guaranteed.
