5. Can I use GateLock with download managers like GetRight, NetAnts, etc.?
No, download managers like GetRight and NetAnts that allow multiple,
simultaneous downloads are not supported by GateLock. GateLock only allows
you to download one file at a time via HTTP.
6. If I configure Outlook Express to retrieve my Hotmail messages, will
GateLock still be able to scan my Hotmail attachments?
No, GateLock will not be able to scan your Hotmail attachments if you use
Outlook Express to read your Hotmail. You will not be notified that your
Hotmail attachments have not been scanned for viruses. This is because Outlook
Express uses a different port to retrieve your Hotmail messages. To stay
protected against viruses, we recommend that you use your Web browser to open
your Hotmail messages.
7. GateLock works well with ICQ messaging but not with ICQ File Transfer.
How do I fix this?
You must use IP Port Forwarding to make ICQ File Transfer work with
GateLock:
i. Open the GateLock configuration console.
ii. Click Advanced > IP Port Forwarding on the sidebar. The IP Port
Forwarding screen loads.
iii. Click User-specified user.
• In the Port(s) field, specify a port range for ICQ Phone, e.g., 556-560.
Make sure that these ports are not currently in use. Take note of the
port you specify here as you will also provide this information in
your ICQ Preferences.
• In the Protocol field, select TCP from the drop-down menu.
• In the Service IP address, enter the IP address of the PC you want to
use for ICQ File Transfer.
• Click Apply.
When you have finished configuring IP Port Forwarding for File Transfer:
i. Open your ICQ Preferences.
ii. Click the User tab.
iii. Under Advanced Users, select the Not using Proxy option.
