Installing GateLock

Chapter Overview

This chapter:

• Discusses how to activate TCP/IP on your PC and configure your DHCP settings 

to ensure that you can connect to the Internet after you install your GateLock

• Explains how to set up and connect your GateLock to your PC or hub.

Note: 

If you are using GateLock with a router, see 

Installing GateLock with a router

 

starting on page A-3. You may have to follow a different procedure to be able to 
connect to the Internet.

Before Installing GateLock

Before you set up and connect your GateLock to your PC or hub, there are two things 
that you have to check:

1. Is TCP/IP installed on your PC?

2. Does your PC obtain its IP address automatically via DHCP?

If your answer is Yes to both questions, you may go directly to 

Installing Your 

GateLock

 on page 2-7. If your answer is No to one or both, follow the succeeding 

instructions to make sure you can connect to the Internet after you install GateLock.
