1. While I was retrieving my POP3 mail, I accidentally unplugged one of the
network cables on GateLock’s rear panel. My mail retrieval was aborted
and I couldn’t connect to the POP3 server when I tried to retrieve my mail
again. Why does this happen?
When you accidentally unplugged one of GateLock’s network cable, you were
disconnected from the POP3 server. The server wasn’t aware that you were
already disconnected, until connection time-out occurred. Because POP3 servers
allow only one account at a time to retrieve mail, you couldn’t immediately
connect to the server again because your previous mail retrieval was still being
processed. In cases like this, wait for the connection time-out to occur before
trying to retrieve your POP3 mail again. You may have to wait up to 15 minutes.
To avoid this inconvenience, avoid unplugging GateLock’s network cables when
retrieving mail or connecting to servers.
2. I want to save a virus notification for an infected Webmail attachment on
Netscape for reference. I tried right-clicking the attachment and using Save
As but it won’t work. What should I do?
You have to right-click the notification, click Save As, and change the file format
to HTML. Simply right-clicking the notification and clicking Save As will save
the notification in the infected attachment’s file format.
3. Can GateLock scan my Webmail attachments if I use MSN Explorer to read
my Webmail?
No, GateLock cannot scan Webmail attachments if you use MSN Explorer. This
is because MSN Explorer uses a different protocol to read your Webmail. We
recommend using Internet Explorer.
4. How do I save a Webmail attachment that’s uncleanable or bigger than 2MB
on Internet Explorer? When Webmail scanning is enabled, I can’t save the
attachment by just right-clicking it and using Save As.
You can only save this type of attachment if you disable GateLock’s Webmail
scanning. Remember, however, that when Webmail scanning is disabled,
GateLock does not scan your attachments for viruses.
