3.4.2. Function and Action
1. Function
The set reagent bottles for the items (48) can be set on the tray.
Reagent bottles are set on the tray and the tray with the set reagent, dilluent
and washing solution bottles are transferred and rotated to the dispensation
position of reagent probe.
The tray can keep reagents cool as long as main power switch on the back of the
system is ON.
2. Action (Refer to “ASSY-6” for assembly drawing.)
When stepping motor (7) rotates, bottle case (4) rotates via plain gears (8)(9).
Bottle case (4) has radiation plate (15) in the center of the bottom, and the
radiation plate has shade pin which shades the light of home position sensor (17).
This detects home position at initialization. (Position No.1 comes to the reagent
dispensation position.)
At that time, the reading of the rotary encoder (united with motor) is reset to
zero.
In analyzing, the tray carries selected reagent bottles to the reagent dispensation
position.
Rotation angle of motor is counted by rotary encoder (united with motor) and
rotation angle of bottle case is checked.
If rotation angle exceeds the limit or it consumed too much time, an alarm is
given and emergency stop is made.
3. Temperature control
The sensor of temperature (13) attached to the lower part of bottle case (4) senses
temperature, and power supply to Peltier element (10) is controlled by digital
thermo.
Digital thermo is located on the left side panel of the system. (Refer to Fig. 1-11,
pages1-8.
