PK-232 – MBX OPERATING MANUAL
COMMAND SUMMARY
4/91
A-34
159
FSK (two-tone) operation, in both receive and transmit. WIDESHFT,
RXREV and TXREV are active.
Bit 9, position $0200:
Bit position 9 does for AMTOR what WRU does for Baudot and ASCII.
If bit 9 is set to 1 (default), a FIGS-D in ARQ causes the unit to be-
come the ISS, transmit the AAB string, then revert back to the IRS. If
bit 9 is set to 0, then a received FIGS-D will have no effect.
Bit 10, position $0400:
If bit 10 is set to 0 (default), then host polling is as before. If bit 10 is
set to 1, then any change in status (e.g. Idle to Tfc) in AMTOR, FAX,
TDM or NAVTEX causes the PK-232 to issue the following host block:
SOH $50 n ETB
where n is $30-36, the same number that the OPMODE command
furnishes. This block is subject to HPOLL.
Bit 11, position $0800:
If bit 11 is set to 1 (default), a connected message appears when an
ARQ link is first established using seven-character SELCALLs (CCIR
625). If bit 11 is set to 0, no connected message appears at the be-
ginning of ARQ communications.
Bit 12, position $1000:
If bit 12 is set to 0 (default), the Packet Morse ID (MID) is on/off key-
ing of the low tone. If bit 12 is set to 1, the Morse ID is sent in 2-
tone FSK with the low tone being key-down and the high tone repre-
senting key-up. Use this setting to keep other stations from sending a
packet during the Morse ID.
Bit 13, position $2000:
If bit 13 is set to 0 (default), MailDrop connect status messages are
always sent to the local user, regardless of the setting of MDMON. If
bit 13 is set to 1, remote user dialog and connect status messages
with the MailDrop are shown only if MDMON is ON.
Bit 14, position $4000:
If bit 14 is set to 0 (default), the transmit buffer for data sent from
the computer to the PK-232 in Packet mode is limited only by avail-
able PK-232 memory. If bit 14 is set to 1, the serial flow control will
permit only a maximum of 7 I-frames to be held by the PK-232 before
transmission. This solves a problem with the YAPP binary file transfer
program which relies on a small TNC transmit buffer to operate cor-
rectly.
Bit 15 is unused at the present time. To return CUSTOM to the default setting, type
CU Y
or
CU ON
at the command prompt.
CW
id "n"
Default: $06 <CTRL-F>
Mode: Baudot/ASCII RTTY/AMTOR/FAX
Host: CW
The CWID command lets you change the "send CWID" control character typed at the end of your
Baudot and ASCII RTTY dialogue.
When the PK-232 reads this character embedded in the text or keyboard input, it switches modes
and sends your call sign in Morse code, at the keying speed set by MSPEED. As soon as your call
sign has been sent in Morse, the PK-232 turns off your transmitter and returns to receive.
