RECOMMENDED FLUIDS
Fuel
Tata Motors Limited recommends using high speed diesel conforming
to IS 1460 (2000) or equivalent in the vehicle. Vehicles equipped with
diesel engines require fuel with very low sulfur content to protect the
emissions system components. Use diesel fuel with a maximum sulfur
content of 0.05% for BS-II engines and 0.025% for BS-III engines.
At low ambient temperatures, the diesel may begin to gel due to
paraffin separation. In this case, supplement the diesel fuel with
kerosene or aviation turbine fuel to prevent the fuel from gelling.
When supplementing the fuel, make sure the fuel and supplement are
thoroughly mixed before filling the fuel tank. Use the following tables
as a guideline for mixing fuel.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE – Recommended Fluids
Lubricants
Engine Oil
Tata Motors Limited recommends using engine oil that conforms to
API CF4+ standards. The recommended grade/oil viscosity depends
upon the average ambient temperature during vehicle operation. Refer
to the following table:

Engine Coolant
Presence of dirt or other substances in the coolant choke cylinder
passages, promote cylinder block and radiator corrosion, etc., causing
insufficient temperature protection.
NOTE
Use only the fluids recommended by Tata Motors Limited. To
To
prevent overheating or freezing of coolant, use only 50/50
pre-mixed branded coolant in the engine cooling system.
