Rotating Tyres
Scheduled tyre rotation is essential for extending the tread life of the tyres on
your vehicle. Rotate the tyres every 20,000 km or sooner if abnormal tyre wear
is observed.
The figures on this page provides the tyre rotation pattern for vehicles with a
standard size spare (5-tyre rotation) and vehicles with a non-standard size spare
(4-tyre rotation).
Tyre Balancing
Balancing tyres will keep ride comfort smooth as well as provide the most life
from the tyres. The tyres are balanced on the wheel from the factory, but may
require re-balancing if a weight falls off or as the tread wears. Always balance
new tyres on the rims.
Follow these points when having the tyres balanced:
Permissible tyre imbalance per wheel/tyre is 95 g/cm.
Do not exceed total balance weight per side of 140 g.
Relocate the tyre on the wheel if balancing requires more than 140 g.
Do not use more than one balance weight per side of the wheel.
WHEEL ALIGNMENT
Aligning the vehicle’s steering and suspension will ensure the vehicle steers
properly and maximizes the life of the tyres. Have the vehicle steering and
suspension alignment checked when the following is noticed:
The vehicle wanders or pulls to one side of the roadway.
Uneven tyre wear is noticed, even though tyre pressure is correct.
Excessive tyre noise
Steering effort is loose or excessive.
When replacing the tyres.
