SAFETY EQUIPMENT – Seat Belts

SEAT BELTS

The Indigo is equipped with a total of five (5) seat belts. The driver, front

passenger, and the two outer rear passenger seating positions are equipped

with three-point type seat belts and the rear seat center passenger position is a

two-point, lap-belt type. Each of the seat belts is secured in a positive-latching

mechanism to assure the belt does not come undone in the event of an accident.

Refer to the figure at right for proper seat belt routing.

WARNING

Seat belts greatly reduce the chances of severe injury or death if

an accident should occur. While operating the vehicle, the driver

and all passengers should wear seat belts at all times.

When wearing the seat belt, sit upright, back into the seat, and

then adjust the belt properly for a snug fit. Improperly adjusted

seat belts will increase the risk of injury or death in the event of

an accident.

The maximum number of people the vehicle can transport is

five (5), as there are only enough seat belts for five passengers.

Never transport more than five people in the vehicle at one time.

Do not allow infants or small children to sit in the front seats of

the vehicle. Children and infants should be seated in the rear

seat of the vehicle.
