Fog Lamps (As Equipped)
Some models of the Indigo may be equipped with front and rear fog lamps. The
front fog lamps improve visibility in foggy conditions by projecting a beam of
light underneath the fog, illuminating the area directly in front of the vehicle.
The rear fog lamps improve the visibility of your vehicle to other motorists
approaching from behind.
Several different types of switches are used to control the fog lamps in the Indigo.
One type of switch is integrated directly into the light stalk, and is operated by
rotating the thumbwheel, 1, forward or back.
The other type of switch is a push-button type, 2, located in the accessory switch
area of the dash. For this type of fog lamp control, a separate switch is used for
the front and rear fog lamps.
Fog lamps only operate when the parking/position lamps are illuminated. The
following paragraphs describe fog light operation:
Front Fog Lamps - Rotate the switch to the front (clockwise) of the vehicle
to illuminate the front fog lamps. If the vehicle is equipped with push-
button switches, push the switch so the amber indicator illuminates.
Rear Fog Lamps - Rotate the switch to the rear of the vehicle (anticlockwise)
to illuminate the front and rear fog lamps. If the vehicle is equipped with
push-button switches, push the switch so the amber indicator illuminates.
The rear fog lamps will only illuminate when the head lamps are on.
The fog lamps are switched “OFF” when the switch is in the center position.
