Cause
Solution
A disc recorded on
this recorder cannot
be played on other
players.
The disc was recorded in video recording
mode.
Finalise the disc (see page 24).
The other player must be compatible with RW me-
dia.
Recording is or was
not possible.
Insufficient space on the disc.
Use another disc.
The source that you wish to copy from is co-
py-protected.
You cannot record from a copy-protected source.
When you configure the recording channel,
the channel is tuned on the TV tuner.
Select the channel using the TV tuner integrated in
the recorder.
Timer recording is not
possible.
The recorder clock shows the incorrect time. Set the time. See "Automatic time setting" or "Man-
ual time setting" on page 29.
The timer was programmed incorrectly.
Reprogram the timer. See "Timer recording" on pa-
ge 43.
The timer recording symbol disappears when
programming is finished.
Reprogram the timer.
Stereo recording
and/or playback is not
possible.
The television is not stereo-compatible.
No solution.
The program is not broadcast in stereo.
No solution.
The A/V output sockets on the recorder are
not connected to the A/V input sockets on the
television.
Connect the A/V sockets. Stereo sound is only pos-
sible via the A/V output on the recorder.
The audio/video output on the recorder is not
configured to display pictures on a television.
Select AUX or A/V as a source for the TV input.
TV sound channel on the recorder is set to
mono.
Set the audio channel on the television to stereo.
See "Changing the TV audio channel" on page 42.
The remote control
does not function cor-
rectly.
The remote control is not directed at the sen-
sor on the recorder.
Direct the remote control at the receiver sensor on
the recorder.
Remote control is too far away from the re-
corder.
Use the remote control within a range of 7
m.
There is an obstacle between the remote con-
trol and the recorder.
Remove the obstacle.
The remote control batteries are flat.
Replace the batteries with new ones.
