1. Press the TIMER button. The timer recording list is
then displayed.
2. Press ENTER. The input line opens.
3. Enter the information required for the timer re-
cording(s).

(left/right) – Move the cursor to the left or
right
•
S
/
T
(up/down) – Change the setting at the cur-
rent cursor position.
•
[Date] Selects a date up to one month in ad-
vance.
•
[Start] Specifies the start time of the recording.
•
[Stop] Specifies the end time of the recording.
•
[Source] Source selection: stored program
numbers or one of the external inputs for the
recording, the DV input cannot be selected. (PR
1 to PR99, SCART, SV1, AV1, SV2, AV2).
•
[Target] Select the data carrier for the recording
(HDD or DVD).
•
[Quality] Select the recording quality (Auto, HQ,
SP, LP, EP, SLP, SEP; the remaining storage
capacity varies depending on the settings and
is displayed in the title bar of the timer menu).
•
[PDC] The PDC system adjusts the recording
time automatically so that you do not miss the
program if the program schedule changes. The
PDC/PDC function will only work correctly if you
enter the right time and date of the program that
you wish to record. Please note that PDC/PDC
does not work on every channel.

Stations that use PDC usually display all
the relevant PDC information on their tele-
text pages. Refer to these pages when-
ever you decide to record a program with
the timer recording function.
•
[Repeat] Select the desired repeat setting (on-
ce, weekend, weekdays, weekly, daily).
•
[Result] Indicates whether programming was
successful or whether an error occurred after
entries were made.
4. Press ENTER once you have entered all program
information. The recording is programmed.
Press ENTER to program another timer recording
immediately afterwards.
5. Press RETURN to exit the timer recording list.
6. Press the POWER button on the remote control to
switch the unit to standby mode.
Note
:
•
The timer symbol appears on the display
when the recorder is switched to standby
mode and the timer is active.
•
Timer recordings can be stopped halfway
through. Press STOP. A confirmation mes-
sage appears. Select "OK" and then press
ENTER to stop the recording or select
"Cancel" and then press ENTER to con-
tinue the recording. After approx. 10 sec-
onds, the confirmation message disap-
pears automatically and the recording con-
tinues.
