Copying
Prior to copying
The copying function on the recorder allows you to:
•
make backup copies of important recordings from
the hard disk onto DVD.
•
create a DVD copy of a recording on the hard
disk to play on other players.
•
copy films that you wish to edit from a DVD to the
hard disk.
•

The "One Touch Copy" function is the simplest way of
making copies. Titles that have just finished playing
can be copied from the hard disk to DVD or vice ver-

Note
:
Title that are less than five seconds long
cannot be copied (from hard disk to DVD).
Copying limitations
Some films are copy protected: these films cannot be
copied onto hard disk or DVD.
You can see whether a film is copy-protected by refer-
ring to the disc information during playback.
•
This recorder cannot record signals in NTSC for-
mat from analogue or DV inputs correctly.
•
Video signals in SECAM format (from integrated
TV tuners or analogue inputs) are recorded in
PAL-format.
What does "CPRM" mean?
CPRM is a copy protection system (encoded) only al-

High speed copying (maximum 12x)
Copying between DVD and hard disk is a fully digital
procedure that prevents losses in picture and sound
quality. You can make any number of copies without
the quality suffering. The speed of the copying proc-
ess can also be accelerated. When copying from hard
disk to DVD, the copying speed depends on the re-
cording mode and the DVD disc used.
