General description of the screen menu
This manual contains basic instructions for operating
the recorder. Some DVDs must be used in a specific
way and the playback options for some DVDs may be
limited.
In this case, the symbol
appears on the television
screen. This symbol indicates that the recorder/disc
does not support a function.
Information displayed on the screen
Various pieces of information relating to the inserted
disc can be displayed on the screen.
1. Click on DISPLAY to show current information.
2. The information displayed may change depending
on the disc type and the playback status (HDD,
jukebox and USB playback).
3. Press
S
/
T
to select information and press
W
/
X
or numerical buttons 0 to 9 to change or select the
settings. The following information appears in the
sequence below:
•
Disc name, format (DVD video, HDD, MPEG)
•
[1/4]: Current title number (or track num-
ber)/total number of titles (or tracks).
•
[1/13]: Current chapter number/total number of
chapters.
•
[Time]: Elapsed play time, press the
X
button to
select between the remaining play time, total
play time and remaining play time in the current
chapter.
•
[Sound (audio)]: Selected language (DVD-
VIDEO only) or audio channel.
•
[….]: Selected subtitles.
•
[
]: Repeat function.
Playback
General playback functions
1. Insert the disc of your choice into the disc loader
with the playback side facing downwards.
2. Press
the
X
PLAY button to start playback. Press
the MENU/PBC button to open the title list.
3. Press
STOP to stop playback. The point at
which the disc stops is stored and the symbol "
II
" appears briefly on the screen, depending on
the disc type. Press
X
PLAY to continue playback
(from the point where the disc stopped). Pressing
STOP again or ejecting the disc ("
" is dis-
played) deletes the stopping point.
4. Press OPEN/CLOSE (
S
) to eject the disc. Press
OPEN/CLOSE again to close the disc loader or
press POWER
to close the disc loader auto-
matically and switch off the unit.
Note
If the parental control is activated and the
disc classification is higher than the parental
control settings (access not authorised), you
must enter the four-digit code and/or author-
ise the disc (see "Classification" on page 25)
to open the recorder.
