FILE MENU
The
File
menu has commands for working with configuration files. A configuration file contains
parameter settings for the TalkSwitch system and has the .tsd extension. The TalkSwitch unit
uses parameter settings to control operation. The default location for storing configuration files
is
C:\Program Files\TalkSwitch\TalkSwitch Configuration 6.11\Config Files
.
The commands available within the
File
menu change depending upon whether a configuration
is open.
If no configuration is open, and the
Configuration Selection
page is displayed, you can:
•
Create a new configuration file from the template, with default parameter settings for your
TalkSwitch system. This way you can set up a configuration without a TalkSwitch unit.
•
Open the configuration from a TalkSwitch unit.
•
Open an existing configuration file.
If a configuration is open, you can:
•
Save the configuration to a TalkSwitch unit. The TalkSwitch unit can be local or at a remote
location. This is only available if you opened a configuration file.
•
Save a new configuration file.
•
Save a configuration to an existing configuration file, overwriting it.
For more information about the
Configuration Selection
page, see
Starting the TalkSwitch
management software
on page 22.
New Template
The
New Template
command creates a configuration file from the template, with default
parameter settings for your TalkSwitch system. You can then modify the file using the
TalkSwitch management software.
1. Choose
File > New Template
. The
Create a New Template File
window appears.
Alternatively, you can click the
Open a Configuration File or Template
button in the
Configuration Selection
page, and then click the
Create a Template File
button.
2. Select the types of TalkSwitch units in your system.
3. Click the
Browse
button to select the location and name of the configuration file.
4. Click
OK
. The system creates the file, and opens it in the TalkSwitch management software.
