UPS for 480 Vac Grid, User Guide, doc. rel.4.0
DURING MAINTENANCE ACTIVITIES SAFETY PROCEDURES MUST BE
STRICTLY OBSERVED AT ALL TIMES
This includes:
Personal protection safety equipment such as rubber mats, rubber gloves, and eye protectors
must be used at all times.
All tools and equipment must be insulated against the ac and dc voltages and currents likely
to be encountered in an industrial UPS.
Do not introduce foreign objects such as metal screws, etc. into the cabinet.
Remove metal watches or other metal jewelry before starting work.
When inspecting the batteries the circuit breaker on the battery cabinet must be switched
OFF. The UPS's battery circuit breaker (if any) must also be switched OFF.
WARNING - RISK OF LETHAL ELECTRIC SHOCK:
The battery cabinet contains batteries connected in series, and the
total voltage is high!
The risk of lethal electric shock exists during inspection and servicing.
Appropriate precautions must be taken.
When inspecting the battery cabinet, there is a danger of
electrocution due to high dc voltage, present at all times, even when
the UPS is switched "off" and the circuit breaker on the battery
cabinet is switched "off".
Because of the natural discharge characteristic of Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries (or
Lithium-ion batteries, if applicable), it is important that maintenance be performed on a regular
basis.
