Two-Stage Heating/Cooling Configuration (Type: Heatpump, Fan: Elec)
Follow the procedure below to configure two stages of heat.
1.
Set the heating and cooling setpoints. Refer to the
section above.
2. Set the
Fan Mode
to
Auto
. This will allow the fan to cycle on and o
ff
for calls for heat and cooling. Refer
to the
section above on which two buttons to press.
3. Set the
System Mode
to
Auto
. This allows the thermostat to send calls for both heating and cooling.
4. From the main thermostat control screen, press the
MENU
button to open the
Menu Selection
screen.
5. Open the
Installer Settings
menu by pressing the two middle buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
Refer to the
section for instructions.
6. From the
Installer Settings
screen, scroll down and
Select
the
System Settings
option.
7. Scroll to and
Select
the
Mechanical Settings
option to open the Mechanical Settings screen.
8. Using the
+/-
buttons, set the
Type
to
Heatpump
.
9. Using the
+/-
buttons, set the
C/O Type
to either
w/Cool
or
w/Heat
.
TIP
!
C/O Type (w/Cool)
- For a reversing valve that works normally (energized) in the heating mode and requires a
change over to reverse flow to cooling mode.
C/O Type (w/Heat)
- For a reversing valve that works normally (energized) in the cooling mode and requires a
change over to reverse flow to heating mode. (Typically the B terminal)
10. Using the
+/-
buttons, set the
2nd Stage Heat
to
Y
to enable. If the HVAC system only supports heating
or cooling, set the stages as required. Below are the settings for a 2 stage HVAC system employing a
heat pump.
11. Select
Done
when complete to revert back to the
System Settings
screen.
Note:

Appendix B: Installer Settings Screen - Descriptions
for a description of each of the settings
below.
12. Set the
H/C Delta
option.
13. Set the
Fan Purge
option.
14. Set the
H Delta Stg1
ON time.
15. Set the
H Delta Stg1
OFF time.
16. Set the
H Delta Stg2
ON time.
17. Set the
H Delta Stg2
OFF time.
18. Set the
C Delta Stg1
ON time.
19. Set the
C Delta Stg1
OFF time.
20. Set the
C Delta Stg2
ON time.
21. Set the
C Delta Stg2
OFF time.
22. Select
Done
, when complete. This will open the
Installer Settings
screen again.
23. Scroll to the
Min Run Time
and set the minimum time a stage can remain in the ON state.
24. Scroll to the
Min O
ff
Time
and set the minimum time a stage can remain in the OFF state.
