Remote Sensor Configuration
For information on configuring the temperature sensors, refer to the information below.
Configure RS1 and RS2
The procedure below has a temperature sensor installed into both the RS1 and RS2 slots.
1.
Press the
MENU
button to open the
Menu Selection
screen.
2. Open the
Installer Settings
menu by pressing the two middle buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.
Refer to the
section for instructions.
3. From the
Installer Settings
screen, scroll down and
Select
the
Remote Sensors
option.
4. Scroll to the
RS1 Type
option and using the
+/-
buttons, set to
Type 2
.
Note:
The temperature sensors o
ff
ered through Savant are all
Type 2
sensors. If the temperature sensor
installed has a Type 3 or A Curve temperature to resistivity curve, modify the
RS1 Type
option to the type of
sensor installed.
5. Scroll to the
RS2 Type
option and using the
+/-
buttons, set to
Type 2
.
6. Scroll to the
RS2 Location
option and using the
+/-
buttons, set to either
OUT
or
IN
.
•
OUT
- Identifies the data received is from an outdoor sensor.
•
IN
- Identifies the data received is from an indoor sensor.
7. Select
Done,
when complete.
Calibrate Sensors (Optional)
For accuracy, the sensors may need to be calibrated. This process requires an accurate pre-calibrated digital
thermometer or temperature display.
1.
Set the pre-calibrated digital thermometer next to the
Internal
temperature sensor and allow it to
acclimate to the temperature in the room. Make note of this temperature.
2. Press the
MENU
button to open the
Menu Selection
screen.
3. Scroll to and
Select
the
User Settings
option to open the
User Settings
screen.
4. Scroll to and
Select
the
Sensor Calibration
option to open the
Sensor Calibration
screen.
5. Scroll to the
Internal
sensor. Using the
+/-
buttons increase or decrease the o
ff
set so the temperature in
the parenthesis equals the temperature displayed on the pre-calibrated digital thermometer.
6. Apply steps 1-5 above with each sensor till they are all calibrated.
7. Select
Done
when complete.
EXAMPLE!
As described above, the numbers in the parenthesis are the temperatures that
are displayed on the SST-W100 LCD. The temperature displayed includes any o
ff
sets
configured. In the image below, the number to the right of the parenthesis is the o
ff
set being
applied. The default o
ff
set is set at 0 and is up to the user to configure each o
ff
set
accordingly.
Internal
- Temperature received from internal sensor is 78°F. No o
ff
set is being applied.
Remote 1
- Temperature received from
Remote 1
is 77°F. Since an o
ff
set of -2°F is being
applied, the temperature displayed by the SST-W100 will be 75°F.
Outside
- Temperature received from the
Outside
sensor is 79°F. Since an o
ff
set of 2°F is
being applied, the temperature displayed by the SST-W100 will be 81°F.
