Number Expansion
In the most business circumstances, telephone network is configured for call
to reach destination possible by dialing the portion among full E.164 number.
Registering extension number as destination-pattern of dial-peer is possible.
If ‘
num-exp
’ dialplan configuration command is applied, Ubigate iBG2016
attempts to match with destination-pattern by expanding extension number to
full E.164 number.
Number expansion decreases the number of digit that user should dial to remote
location. Application is made for called number of the entire incoming call.
Number expansion is similar to ‘
prefix
’ command except that it is applied to
the entire dial-peer and the status before matching with destination-pattern.
The figure 33.9 shows the network of the small company which desires to use
VoIP for integrating the telephone network in the current ip network.
Destination-pattern of Ubigate iBG2016 A is 408 115-xxxx, 408 116-xxxx,
408 117-xxxx. Destination-pattern against Ubigate iBG2016 B is 729 555-
xxxx.
