Installation Overview of the Galaxy HDX2-ADA DICOM Appliance
from SATADOM Image
This procedure is designed to be used by the production entities. The GalaxyDICOM
distribution SATADOM is the only medium needed to install GalaxyDICOM in a production
environment.
There are two distinct procedures, first is to copy the SATADOM and second is the
GalaxyDICOM build procedure. To be able to make multiple copies of the SATADOM will
require a copy station that shall have the capability of plugging in multiple SATADOM’s at the
same time. This work station could be a simple PC with multiple SATA ports on its
motherboard. The following is an overview of the required procedures.
The steps to copy SATADOM images from the Copy Station are as follows:
1.
Insert the SATDOMs into the SATA ports of the Copy Station
2.
Connect and run BIOS configuration for multiple SATADOM’s on the Copy Station
3.
Execute the copy command to copy the image to SATADOM’s (block level copy
utility, i.e. on Linux the “dd” command)
a.
Example “dd” command: dd of=/dev/sda if=/mnt/db/SATADOM2.img
bs=1024k
4.
Shutdown Copy Station and remove SATADOM’s
5.
Send SATADOM to storage or the production line
The steps to install GalaxyDICOM from SATADOM during the build procedure are as follows:
1.
Install the SATADOM
2.
Boot GalaxyDICOM computer into RAID utility and configure the hard drives in a
RAID 1 configuration
3.
Boot GalaxyDICOM computer from SATADOM (requires BIOS setting change)
4.
Login into GalaxyDICOM (user “root” and password “Galaxy”)
5.
License the GalaxyDICOM
6.
Execute /usr/bin/SATAinstallGalaxyDICOM.sh procedure
7.
Configure network as required
8.
Execute the Installation Verification procedure
SATADOM Copy Station
The Copy Station should have the hardware to connect multiple SATADOMs. Copy the
SATADOM image to the multiple SATADOMs connected.
Installation Verification Overview of the GalaxyDICOM
Performing the GalaxyDICOM installation verification will ensure that all data bases are
configured properly and all file systems are mounted.
