Access Management
Configuring Users and Groups
The functionality allowed for a particular user is defined when the user logs into the system.
Once the user is logged in, the GUI assigns that user a certain set of rights to perform some
defined set of operations. Below is a summary of those user permissions (access privileges)
from the point of view of the GUI operations.
From that point of view, defining a set of operations and matching them to the users and
groups provides the possibility of detailed access control.
When creating Groups/Roles and Users always create the Groups/Roles first, then create the
Users that will be assigned to that Groups/Roles.
Groups
Only the system administrator may add new groups of users and assign them certain
privileges. The proper GUI page shall be created to manage the access map.
By Default three Groups/Roles are
configured.
The “Support” group/role has the most
privileges. It should be used primarily
by support technicians for diagnosing
issues with the GalaxyDICOM Appliance.
The “Administrator” group/role is the
primary role for the system
administrator. By default it has most of
the available privileges.
The “Operator” group/role will limit
privileges to non administrator
functions.
To create a new Groups/Roles select the
Add New Role; a new screen will
appears.
